Anyone have experience with the Aiwa CDC-MP32?

I'm looking at buying an Aiwa CDC-MP32 for my car, and I have a few questions about it. First off, what kind of "navigational system" does it have? By that, I mean how do you navigate through your songs? If I have 200 songs on a CD that are sorted into directories and I want to go from #1 to #100, songs in two different directories, am I going to have to hit the skip track button 99 times, or is there some sort of system to make it easier? I'm used to how my Rio Volt works, so I'd prefer something similar to that.

Also, will this player try to read files without an .MP3 extension? I keep txt files with a lot of my MP3s, so I don't want something that will try to read all of the files on the CD as MP3s and then just spit out a bunch of static or noise.

And lastly, if you have experience with this deck, what's your overall general impression of it?

Thanks a bunch.

from the mutiple reviews i have read, you should avoid this one, did not fix the skipping problems that hindered the first generation
i recommend the kenwood mp8017 or with a little more dough, the jvc sh-99
these were the most 2 praised units on the net

check out this site for more info highwaymp3

Yeah, I actually just went on Google and searched around for some reviews...doesn't look too good. Anything that skips when the car is PARKED isn't getting too much consideration from me 🙂

I have the CDC-MP3 and while it does skip, its not often. If I go over a hard over a bump then yeah it does skip otherwise its fine. However what annoys me is that it lacks a whole cd random feature and the fact that the stupid thing skips even with a CD (when its not supposed to skip). Also when it finds a bad track or has a CRC error it bascially freezes.

Otherwise I dont mind it.. I like the system, but its no comparison to my Philips Expanium.. which I can still use via the Aux-In jack.

no mp3 cd player can do random across folders. only within folders
so unless you put 150 songs in the root dir. or one directory, you cant do random across the whole disc
