Anyone have experience with EVGA's RMA process?

I hope I'm putting this in the correct forum.

One of the fans on my GTX 780 is starting to go bad(it's making the bearing grown of death from time to time). I contacted EVGA about a replacement cooler and was told they don't have any and I would need to RMA the entire card.

How smooth do the cross-ships RMAs go? A $500 deposit on a outdated GPU is a lot of money to put on the line.

I've had zero issues RMA'ing with them.

First was a 460 that had to go back 2 times, third time they let us upgrade to a SC just pay the difference. All the steps had prompt responses to E-Mails and apologies for continued issues. They sent out the 460 SC same day we filed a new RMA ticket.

Second time I ever had to use it was for a 660 Ti that ate the ghost. Replaced in about 1.5 weeks.

I've never done a cross-ship, but I did RMA a GTX 570 and the replacement was back to me within a couple of weeks total. Very easy and smooth process.

Seems EVGA will be cross shipping a GTX970 as a replacement for the 780(based on the part number noted in the RMA). I hope this goes smoothly. A $500 deposit on a $300 replacement card is a tad excessive. They could have at-least sent a 980. ;)

nice, 970 is a much better gpu than the 780.
