How good is it? I have verizon DSL and i like it but look at the speeds that i currently can only get. No Fios option available 🙁

"it" can be one of dozens of models by several manufacturers. The modem and the service level provided by the ISP are unrelated.

What are you really asking?

I had one. It was fine.

I have a Motorola SB6120 now and it runs no different from what I can tell.

Just realized OP has verizon DSL. Why do you ask about a cable modem instead of the service it provides?

Would it be worth it to dump this shitty DSL for faster cable?

If we tell you no, will you really keep your current ISP? If we tell you yes, will you really immediately jump ship?

If you're looking for local data which is the only data that you should care about, you need to be over at dslreports.com.

Thanks guys. All i really do is game and having a low ping is important to me. The upload speeds from comcast cable intrigue me more then the downloads. I feel like i'm tied down with just .73mb/sec up

That's more than you'll ever need for gaming, unless you're hosting large servers which is against your EULA anyway.

Changing ISPs doesn't guarantee any ping change. Do your homework LOCALLY so you don't end up with a higher ping.

Like I said earlier, you should be asking these questions on dslreports, not anandtech.

Eh, speedtest.net is only decent for comparing one service to another. It isn't good for judging your real bandwidth. For example, I have a 16Mbit down / 2Mbit up connection:
