Anyone have bad company 2 crash constantly on them?

It seems like 1 out of every 3 times I play BC2 it freezes on me, either by BSOD'ing for the picture freezing on screen and the computer restarting. What gives? Video card overheating??

Edit: I have a 4890

thanks for the advice. I'll try lowering render ahead.

I need to test my cpu & gpu with prime & furmark anyhow, this gives me another reason to do it.

You have the same card as me, the control panel should be in your system tray (bottom right), the red rectangle w/ ATI in white

I should prolly install the software that came with the card eh... 😛

It's absolutely awful now. Once it crashes, it crashes within 3 minutes of me restarting the game.

where'd you get the program from, and what's it called? Because the disk from ASUS has nothing like that on it.

Yeah make sure your setup is stable first. Another option would be to disable Catalyst AI in the " AI " tab. Seems to help a lot of people with frequent crash problems on quite a few different title's.

It fixed my crash problem in Borderlands.

I too get constant crashes with BC2. 5970 temps aren't the issue ( I crank the fans up and use Everest). Overlcock isn't either (I play it on stock now). Windows 7 is freshly installed. It is annoying.

Still crashes. no difference.

Where under the ATI control panel is the render ahead thing??

roll back to 10.4

make sure to uninstall the current ones, reboot and then run guru3d's driver sweeper to clean the misc crap ati leaves around. reboot again, and install the 10.4's

AFAIK those are the last drivers that work well with BC2.

Don't forget the 10.4b patch that fixes the BFBC2 load time issues.

shoot so this is an ongoing issue with their more recent drivers?

glad to hear others are having this issue. I'm on a clean W7 install as well. It did start after I updated drivers I think
