Anyone have Atlantic Universal Speaker Stands?

Well I just bought some stands for my surround sound and I the screws that are supposed to secure the base are too small for the holes they punched and just slide through...anyone else have these and know what the deal is? I can post pics if necessary.. thanks for any advice!

Is it a bad idea to go and buy the correct size screws for a few bucks and be done with it ??
