isn't it going live in 5 days? I've heard no such buzz. Got invited a week or 2 ago and spent 5 minutes on it.

I don't need a new social network every other year.

yes because my invite came to a non gmail addy. and ive sent many invites to no gmail addys and they worked just fine. you just need to sign up with one. where the invite is sent does not matter.

or it didnt i guess they could have changed it
 
Seems to me like you can invite as long as you have already joined. Haven't tried to invite anyone, but if you PM me your email you can be the guinea pig.
 
Holy crap I just set up my acct and they have all my facebook contacts ready to be added to circles. How??? Google has voodoo
 
Yup you must have them on your address book. The first time I logged in and saw their 'suggestion' I was like WTF as well.

Apparently you are correct. I know that it didn't work when I tried to send it to non-gmail addresses before though. When I did this before, the invitees did not receive anything at all. Now they receive an email with a link, and you just have to click on it and login with whatever google account you want Plus on.
 
Google Plus is starting to run... tons of groups... phones, cars, guns, military, apple, Climbing, Business, Actors, football...

No impostors, you need your real info/name... although nicknames can be use on your home page after you join.
 
One of my friends recently tried to add me to their circle when I didn't have an account. I received an invite from it.
 
I better get a jump on it, I don't want to be the only person 3 months late to the party starting up with 0 friends when everyone else has 500+. 😛
