Anyone have any experience with the new DeWalt 32v stuff ? :D

the hammer drill looked particularly seet, and I was wondering if anything had gotten their hands on it

I couldn't find it at their site but I saw it at home depot and they were 32v....and the ones that their site mentions are 36v

I watched all their videos on their site showing their durability and power. It looks pretty amazing.

Those new batteries should make it to other devices within a few years. Battery technology has fallen behind over the last 10 years.

We are framing and putting up a patio deck so I just got to thinking how weak the 18v xrp's would be for some of the stuff (we need to buy another 18v or 14.4v) and came upon this @ Home depot

Thats $450 for a simpe hammer drill though:Q when a quality wired one is no where near that much

I wouldn't buy it from Home Depot. My uncle has a small construction company and he went to buy some dewalt tools. He was shopping around between Home Depot and a local competitor and found that HD had better prices on most of the dewalt stuff. He asked the local competitor guys why they sell higher and they said that HD actually tells dewalt to make a special HD version of their tools with cheaper components so it costs less and they can sell it for less. I don't know if that's just here or where you are but I'd look into it.

I'd be curious if that's true. If the model number is the same, it will be the same product.

Sounds like the little guy getting defensive to me.

Of course if it's a different model number then for sure, the HD one is probably inferior.

seriously...if that were true...hell...no way in hell dewalt would spend so much money in having to modify their designs for that....

it is true that some manufacturers do this, but they make different model numbers
