Anyone have any experience with QAM Tuners and Comcast cable?

I am debating whether to get an ATSC/QAM tuner for my HDTV. Has anyone been able to get the local digital HD channels with comcast or are they all scrambled? The only OTA channels in my area are CBS, ABC, and PBS so it wouldn't be worth getting a tuner unless I can access the local HD channels through my existing cable line.

Also does anyone know where i can get an HD tuner for less than $100?

Try the QAM tuner..

I'm in the market for one. My Sony XBR2 @ home has a built in tuner and it works totally fine. Why pay $5 for stupid Comcast's box when I can get it through my own TV. Sure I have to memorize that ABC is now 117.1 for HD, but that's no biggie.

I don't know myself. I'm still debating whether or not to get a box or an tuner card for my pc. I already use MCE. However I was reading that MCE doesn't support QAM, only over the air. Is that true?

currently true, although I think vista's mce version allows cablecard support

This is why my future LCD will have a built in HD/QAM tuner :)

I am just going to rent the box from the cable company. I'm pretty sure it's only $5/month extra.
