Anyone have any cool screensavers?

Looking for something I can use at work that is fun, neat, cool, etc. Obviously no bikini babes or anything like that.

Anyone know of anything cool I can download that you'd recommend.

I myself like Webshots (some say it has spyware, but I don't see any issues with it) .. You can download albums or individual photos from their site (and they have all sorts to pick from) or you can use any jpeg or bmp you want such as family pix, etc.

www.webshots.com .. you need to create a Free account to download the photos.

Seriously, I've left downloading screensavers from the different sites. Most of them are filled with spyware and those stupid pop-up advertisements. Annoying! :|

Webshots seems a nice alternative though.

I think the coolest screensaver is the "turn off monitor" power saving feature. With any other screensaver, my monitor stays awfully hot. 😉

Now defunct, but my favorite was Voodoo Lights, by Sergio Duarte.

I didn't know about Voodoo Lights, just did a google search and it looks good! So, you can't download it anymore? It was free right?

LCDs have made screensavers obsolete.
True when you see the purpose as preventing image burn in. But, there are lots of folks who simply like to be entertained by screensavers.

For screensaver fans, keep in mind that with an LCD, a screensaver does just as much wear and tear as the normal image. The backlight tube is still burning hours off of its finite lifespan.

My rule for LCDs is "Off when not being used."

Its been left to die for about 4+ years as far as I know, but it was never free. I paid my $15 waay back in '99 I think. The last available version was 1.29rc2.

It looks like the thread link that I wanted to point out is extremely slow right now, but see if it works for you. It shows how far a user went to pay Sergio for his time and effort on this project.
