Hey guys,

So i'm a lifestyle/dating coach for those of you who don't know, and part of my job involves doing clothing/fashion/makeover consultations with clients. I generally frequent the same clothing boutiques and hair salons (both big name companies in the LA/CA area).

A friend of mine said that because i do business nationwide and internationally, and because i've had major nationwide tv exposure (with much more to come), that i should get sponsored by these companies and either have them do the hair cuts/clothing makeovers for free or better yet, get them to pay ME for the advertising.

For those of you in corporate marketing/advertising, does this sound feasible? If so, how do i go about doing that? Schedule a meeting and then present the perks to them in a presentation?

Open to ideas. Thanks in advance.

You are going to have to hire a lifestyle/business coach to give you the confidence to call and setup a meeting with someone in the marketing department.

LOL @ Turin.

Boutiques and salons certainly can have a different approach than your normal businesses. I've gotten support from them before, just by asking to speak with the owner/manager...but in your situation, I would probably work up a presentation on a laptop and then invite them out for dinner or drinks. Your relationship with them will be worth tons. Depending on your bankroll, I would consider an "industry meet and greet" - invite a couple of different places and rent out a meeting/private room at a nice restaurant and do a proper presentation. This is all from the "approach", as I don't know anything about you, what you do, what your clientele is like or what kind of scale you had in mind.

I would send them a letter. Not an email, but an actual letter. Think it through, use proper grammar, sound professional, etcetera and propose your idea. See what they have to say.

EvilYoda, thanks for the response. Honestly, what i was REALLY looking for was less about compensation and more just free clothes and haircuts for my clients. They're paying me several thousand dollars and it'd be nice if that came with some free stuff too. The only reason i considered compensation was because my friend said i should shoot for that.
