* I wake up, computer.
* On the 1.5 hour bus to class, iPod apps & video.
* During lectures, iPod internet.
* After lectures, campus PC.
* On the 30 minute wait and 1.5 hour bus home, iPod apps & video.
* Come home, computer, movies , misc. online voice chat until 4am.
Repeat.
Anyone else have an unyielding addiction to any and all things electronic?
The funny thing is, in my situation: I usually don't have anything 'I want to do' when it comes to:
-Blankly looking into internet browser, not wanting to surf the only 5 websites I go to.
-Looking at a full TiVo, not wanting to watch television.
-Looking at 9 pages of iPod apps, not wanting to play or do anything on the bus.
-Looking @ 100 iPod videos on the bus, not wanting to watch anything.
-Looking at a 200+ DVD collection on my media player and not wanting to watch anything.
Yet I find myself staring at these things regardless. And while doing these things, I'll sometimes drop whatever it is I am doing and stare out the window in boredom, only to 'get back to it' moments later against my will. I just picked up an MMO (EVE Online) hoping to fill that "need" for constant entertainment, but even playing that has me wanting something else, something more.
It's almost like all this constant entertainment has given me an overdose of dopamine and (while treating it like drugs or something) the stuff I need for "my fix" has increased to a level where I can no longer satisfy its craving.
Kinda sucks when you have no money, no car, and friends who have all gone AWOL over the last year lol. Any constructive thoughts?
