Well, my 7800GT just crapped out... started artifacting when I loaded up a game... I'm not even overclocking!

Just got it four months ago... how lame. Anyways, gotta RMA it now I suppose, but I put an nv silencer on it... putting the old HSF back on, but I don't know if I got it right.

Can anyone tell me what all parts should go on it... is there a metal backplate or something?

Think I'll have any trouble RMAing it?

Thanks!

Should be similar enough...

Why, do you want my serial number for the rma?

Ooooo that'd be dirty. Nah, really just trying to figure out why I can't find the silver backplate and wondering if it will matter.

do you have the regular EVGA 7800GT? I have one and it doesn't have a backplate. I replaced the stock cooler with a Zalman VF-700Cu anyway though. Check your cooler and make sure there isn't any dust in the fan. Also, check your temps and tell us what they are. It might not be the graphic card it could be a driver problem or something.

Yeah I have the regular 7800 GT... thanks for the answer! Guess I'm not missing the backplate afterall!

Well the temps are like 47 C... I'm using 78.01 I believe.
