Anyone have an Alpine that has Issues with CD-Rs?

Mine has been getting worse! Put in a cd-r and it immediately gets ejected OR it'll sit there on track1 forever without starting :| :| :| :| I'm so pissed!!! I have tons of burned cd-rs that I like to listen to in the car and I can't.

Lately, I've been using 80min Audio Memorex burnin at 16x. I'm gonna try and burn at 2x, for the hell of it and see what happens.

Does anyone know of a certain type of media that does well in Alpines?

Do ya think my deck needs to be serviced?

I should note that store bought cds work without a hitch.

Appreciate any info.

A LOT of car CD players do. It seems like the higher end models have more troubles than the cheap panasonic/pioneer models.

My Nakamichi is *very* picky. I have to use only audio discs, and have to use the lowest speed.

Nakamichi tech told me that their unit is so nice that it is very picky with substandard media. 😛 Whatever!

The Alpine cd changer (CHM-S620) we got for my girlfriend's car works fine with CD-R's. Perhaps try a different brand of CD media?

I agree with tom3.

I have an /////Alpine 7965 head unit and a CHA-S624 changer. Both read CDR's no problem.
