had a water bed when i was a kid
got it in 3rd grade...loved it

but in high school it got punctured big time and i woke up in the middle of the night floating in a frame full of cold water
my mouth and nose were the only part of me not submerged

my body was sooooo pruny that it hurt like a mofo getting out of the bed

ya, that would suck big time too.

I have one. It's the whole bed (not just one of thin layer ones). I have to say I totally love it. After sleeping on it's hard to have to sleep in hotel rooms with normal beds.

Why can't they make a pillow in the conventional shape? I sleep on my stomach, so that neck thing sucks.

Sleeping on your stomach isn't good for your back. Once you get a little, you won't be able to do it anymore.

I was told that once but I've never managed to convert to sleeping on my back. I can only seem to do it for an hour and then I'm back on my stomach. Maybe I need to wrap a tie down around my bed so I can't flip over.

I had a Tempur-pedic pillow for a little while and I hate it now. It completely wore down after a year. No support for my neck, which is why I got it in the first place.

That's odd. My gf has had her Tempur-pedic pillow for many years and it feels about the same as the one I bought 3 months ago.

What should I pay for a decent latex mattress set (queen)? I was in Sleepy's tonight but didn't quite trust the salesman.

I just paid $800 (DELIVERED) for a Nature's Rest Serene Queen mattress (mattress only). I think I did pretty well.... do you think this is a good price?

That's a very good deal. MSRP is $2k+ I believe. Less than what I paid for a lower quality Nature's Rest w/ a low profile box spring.

Good haggling job.

one last point from me.

i was in LA, CA the last four nights. will be sleeping in my own bed tonite. so i know what i've been missing.

for years, i would have a problem with waking up and my hands being on pins and needles, asleep, circulation cut off because i slept with my hand under my body somewhere as i tossed and turned. this hasn't happened once to me in the 5 yrs since i purchased this bed. that in and of itself is a testament to what this mattress does. it eliminates pressure points.

Tempurpedic does have pillows that are of conventional shape. But I don't like those either. I recommend the Latex foam ones from Walmart. So much cheaper and much better for me. They don't form a imprint like the tempurpedic does, but they just as supportive and feel much better. They are like bouncy semi-firm pillows that never loose their firmness.

yup, that imprint thing is just a gimick anyway.

the only important thing is, do you get even support. that's what any good latex foam will give you, even consistent support.
