How well do they work? They have them on Woot right now and I'm kind of curious as to how well they would work..
 
They work pretty well. It won't do as good as a regular vac, but you can use them more often, and vacuum less. They're also entertaining to watch.
 
I would be afraid that with fur from the kitties, it would fill up the tiny tank too fast and I would spend all day chasing it to empty the canister.
 
I saw them at Canadian tire today, was almost tempted to buy one. Maybe when I have my own house. My cat would enjoy it I think.

How do those empty, do you have to do it manually or does it have an emptying station? I would imagine they can't hold much so it probably can't do the whole house in a run.
 
I have had a Roomba Scheduler for 2 years now. Also have a Dirt Dog model (no suck, just sweep). They are great maintenance machines, they do not deep clean. They also hate throw rugs.

 
it works pretty well for me. no pets. they used to make special model for pets but now i think there are just 2 models. the newer ones are more gentle on furniture.
 
I've got one and it worked pretty well up until the battery died. I've been too lazy to order another. Great for pet hair and hardwood floors.
 
we have one, works surprising well on hardwood floors, there's been a few times when the battery died before it could make it back to it's charger though..other than that, no complaints my wife says.
 
They work great on all floors - carpet, tile, & hardwood. Like others said, they don't do a deep clean, but are great for maintenance. They tend to get stuck every now and then on rugs, HACP vents in the floor, under the lip of the kitchen cabinets, etc. Generally, they are pretty good at getting themselves unstuck. The battery died on ours, and is expensive to replace.

All in all, we have liked ours a lot.
 
As long as you understand how they work and how to set them up, they're great. As mentioned, they aren't deep cleaners, so use your big vacuum to do your whole house before they arrive, then just run them every few days to keep the surface clean. I rarely ever use the big vacuum anymore. They do get stuck on obstacles, so you need to keep the floor clean, and you need to prepare the floor for them. If you have speaker wire or lamp cords, tuck them against a wall or put some wiremold up to hide them. Watch out for places they can get stuck, like if a couch doesn't have much clearance. The first time you run them you'll probably see the problem spots. Also, clean them out at least once a month - dump the bin and use the thread slicer (the blue tool that comes with it) to clean off the removable brushes.

Other than that, I have a small fleet of them working daily as my robotic slav-, er, maids, and they do just fine 🙂
