yup... every two years for me... next up is a gtr, 911 turbo, c7 (z06) or 2013+ viper ...

one of those will be bought in late 2013 early 2014 (my lease for my current car is up mid 2014)...

[/1% problems]

I've kept my current cars for 2 years and 3 years respectively, don't plan on swapping out for new ones any time soon. I find that I become invested with a car the more I own it, take care of it, and modify it. Thus I want to sell them less and less.

this thread has got a lot of a big e-wieners swinging around!!

"So today, parking my Bugatti Veyron, well actually its my summer drive, normally I drive my Zonda, but it was too hot out for that. And my friend has the Ferrari F40, but I don't like it as much because it rides hard. Yep, I'm awesome"

Good thing my Gallardo has doors that open up, it should avoid hitting my butt.

Just playing around! Didn't mean to "fire up anyone's engines". Ok promise, that is it! ;)

FYI... Everyone who has posted up their cars are legit. We have members with GTRs, ferraris, what you've seen in this thread is really just a small snippet.

ATG is a great community ^_^ We need an ATG track day.. I'd drive a few hours, at least, to participate.

No doubt, I'd be down for a track day. +1

My point was I see a post with 12 moderate cars someone owns, and then shortly after you get some obnoxious posts about supercars...not sure how that jump can be made without coming off as a jerk.

I think I'm about a 5-year guy unless something bad happens or a life changing event comes along (second baby coming this fall, so ditching the Kia Rio and Focus Coupe to make way for a Fusion or maybe G35 Sedan). My daily is now a '12 TC 6MT.

jLee you sure are a Toyota dude :) Not that there's anything wrong with that. I was that way with Hondas from the late 80s to late 90s.

What's the current and past then?

Cars and Bikes in the order I had them:

91 corolla in hs/college
99 mustang cobra vert in college (made ~310rwhp and 295rwtq, ran mid 13's all day at the track)
03 mustang cobra coupe post college (made 625rwhp and 590rwtq, ran low 10's all day at the track)
03 honda cbr600rr (corner carver)
02 yukon denali (tow vehicle for the mustang)
07 acura tl (bought a house and sold all my toys)
08 suzuki hayabusa (209rwhp, can't remember the tq, ran high 8's all day at the track)
07 corvette z06 (this was probably the "perfect" car, made ~450rwhp, 100% bone stock to the paper filter)
12 acura tl (this is my current car, was going to get another bike, but ended up not getting one)
00 jeep wrangler (cures my 4x4 itch)

so i've been all over the place... time for another "sports" car... right now GTR is in the lead followed closely by the 911 turbo coupe (2010 w/ pdk), but my mind changes everyday and I have another 1yr and 1/2 to decide

glad to hear you have a 911 4s... i may pick your brain a bit on porsche's via PM

There's an F430, a Noble, couple of 911s, a GTR, a viper, several CTS-V, M3s etc. floating around on this forum. People with techy background like cars.

if you are referring to me, i'm sorry about being honest... but a ~100k car is within the realm of many people on this board, I'm sure of it.

and I would be in for a east coast track day... hell just a GTG would be awesome. we have a lot of car nuts on this board and I'm sure it would be a good turnout

I'm trying to remind myself that saving up for a viper is *dumb* because while I can technically manage it, (took 1 year to pay for a car of roughly half the cost), that would be a *really* stupid waste of money.

But oooh, shiny!

There are so much better things to do with $100k though.

I guess I could put a few thousand a month towards it, and then buy when the cash on hand allocated to it met the current used price of the 2013 models....?

Argh, no, bad shiny. Stupid use of money.

Will not do that.

i hear ya... as a kid the viper was my dream car...

But I think a new one will be way over the msrp... it will be interesting to see what the used market will be like a year from now.

I'm too cheap, poor, and lazy to keep changing cars. I like the idea then the practical side of me veto it. But I have a cousin who lives near me and he goes through cars, sometimes multiple times a year. So through him I get my different car fix without actually having to spend the money. Kind of like being friends with a boat owner. I get the benefit and occasional use without having to pay for the cost or the maintenance. :p I still remember when BMW E46 M3 was first released and he bought it new even paying the early buyer premium. Less than 2 months later he got rid of it because he said the car was gutless and average. He described the M3 as "Jack of all trades, master of none." So he bought new C32 AMG which he kept for about 3 months til he was bored with it. He's now into exotics and recently purchased another Ferrari and Bentley. I'm whispering into his ear that he needs a Lambo. Hopefully next year he'll pull the trigger.

Goes in spurts for me. I once traded in an '88 in on an '88...

Love my 2005 Honda Civic Hybrid. There are no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.

Only cars I've ever owned and still have them all (well lost one Z to a fire and replaced it with another, but I view that more as an exchange). Judging by the trend I'm setting here on the model years I'm not due until 2025 :D

After careful thought, I suddenly want a Porsche or Lotus as my next vehicle of choice. Probably in Spring '13. My RX-8 will have given me 3 years of service by then.
