You can get the Moto E815 AND a Bluetooth headset for free (after rebates) from amazon.com. Just use the promo code for the free Bluetooth headset listed on the site when checking out, and fill out both the $150 and $50 mail-in rebate form after activating your service.

The MP3 player is good, but basic MP3's are about all that it plays. It will not play .WMA's or .AAC files, and it doesn't support MP3's encoded in VBR format. Transflash is still a bit pricey, too, and the biggest size available right now is 512 MB.

I have a V710, same thing cept not world phone from what I believe.

I think this phone is the biggest piece of ****** I've ever had.

I will definitely go back to Nokia or Samsung (brands which I've had the best luck with)

Battery life mediocre, camera is utterly useless, it has tons of software glitches, it freezes up all the time, it's huge, i just really have no reason to like this phone. Although I must admit for the things a BASIC phone should do it's fine. (call reception, clarity), but for all the fun toys, many phones are much better.

I've had my E815 for three months now, and I have a few complaints:

1) The battery life isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be. I get 48 hours per charge, tops.
2) The Motorola charger connector is annoying. I like the round plug-in connectors that Nokia uses a lot better.
3) The vibration is weak, but that doesn't bother me all that much.
4) Verizon's firmware sucks. You can't use MP3's off the memory card as ringtones, and synching with a Bluetooth headset is a pain in the ass. I've heard that you can hack this, though.
5) The "MP3" player is aptly named... it only plays MP3's. WMA files don't work, and neither do AAC's. MP3's encoded with VBR don't work, either.
6) Verizon's network coverage in rural areas is pretty bad. You can say that about almost any cellular service, though.
7) The camera takes really lousy pictures, even by camera phone standards.

I apparently underestimate other phones. I've used many Motorolas, a few Nokias, one Samsung, and one Sony. My e815 has been far better than the others, though yes, the e815 is definitely far from perfect.

1 - I get about 72 hours, if it's mainly idle. If i'm using it occasionally, 48 hours. That's better than most other phones I've seen.

2 - Agreed. I have a data cable that allows me to plug the power connector into it, and then the data cable plugs into the phone... I do that, because it makes the connection much more secure.

3 - Agreed.

4 - What's wrong with synching to a Bluetooth headset? Yes, you can hack quite a bit on this phone.

5 - <shrug> I haven't tried its MP3 player. If I want to listen to music, I listen to a computer, CD player, portable music device, etc.

6 - I switched to Verizon because it is the only network that works in the rural areas I'm in.

7 - It's better than the others I've seen, though admittedly few. I use a camera when I want to take quality pictures.

1: EV drains it quickly. My 1x lasts for days. I keep brightness and contrast down, too. Lotsa pic usage drains quickly too
2. Agreed
3. Vibrate is weak but I never use it anyway
4. change xxx.mp3 to xxx.mid and works perfectly, can email to phone, jsut don't blow out the speaker
5. see 4
6. Once in a while network fluctuates, but Tmobile wouldn't get any signal in my apt, whereas VZW gets a couple bars consistently.
7. The camera takes pretty nice pictures for a cameraphone. 1.3mp w/ 4x zoom is not shabby.

Really? The ones that I tried "pretend" to play, but I don't get any sound. Maybe it's a Verizon firmware glitch.

oh, and I had to update the firmware at VZW b/c text messages would pre-empt the alarm in the morning. (alarm wouldn't ring until you cleared all unread text messages)
