1) The battery life isn't as great as everyone makes it out to be. I get 48 hours per charge, tops.
2) The Motorola charger connector is annoying. I like the round plug-in connectors that Nokia uses a lot better.
3) The vibration is weak, but that doesn't bother me all that much.
4) Verizon's firmware sucks. You can't use MP3's off the memory card as ringtones, and synching with a Bluetooth headset is a pain in the ass. I've heard that you can hack this, though.
5) The "MP3" player is aptly named... it only plays MP3's. WMA files don't work, and neither do AAC's. MP3's encoded with VBR don't work, either.
6) Verizon's network coverage in rural areas is pretty bad. You can say that about almost any cellular service, though.
7) The camera takes really lousy pictures, even by camera phone standards.
I apparently underestimate other phones. I've used many Motorolas, a few Nokias, one Samsung, and one Sony. My e815 has been far better than the others, though yes, the e815 is definitely far from perfect.
1 - I get about 72 hours, if it's mainly idle. If i'm using it occasionally, 48 hours. That's better than most other phones I've seen.
2 - Agreed. I have a data cable that allows me to plug the power connector into it, and then the data cable plugs into the phone... I do that, because it makes the connection much more secure.
3 - Agreed.
4 - What's wrong with synching to a Bluetooth headset? Yes, you can hack quite a bit on this phone.
5 - <shrug> I haven't tried its MP3 player. If I want to listen to music, I listen to a computer, CD player, portable music device, etc.
6 - I switched to Verizon because it is the only network that works in the rural areas I'm in.
7 - It's better than the others I've seen, though admittedly few. I use a camera when I want to take quality pictures.
