Anyone have a Motorola E815?

$119.99..rebate after 2 months, and another after 6 months ("loyalty" rebate..bleh) -- so really, figure the phone as 120 bucks and the rebates as possible bonuses. 😛

Verizon is one of two options here, and the other (US Cellular) is terribly overpriced, so I'm thinking about jumping on this - does anyone have this phone? If so, how do you like it?

I have one. The size is OK. The only thing I really hate about it is the weak vibrate. I don't know why they bothered putting it in there if they're gonna make it so pathetic.

I haven't noticed that it's any weaker than my previous phones.

How's MP3 playback? I have a cassette deck in my truck, and am putting off buying a new head unit until I can..1) afford it, and 2) decide what I want...and a portable CD player w/tape adapter just doesn't have enough storage. 😛

mp3 is good, you need a transflash card, 512 is about $40 and a SD card reader/writer

one more thing..... phone jacks have a 2.5mm jack so you need an adapter

The vibrate on it is terribly weak, but I otherwise love it. I don't really have a problem with the vibrate in practice, but I know a lot of people do. YMMV.

Nice..thanks.

I have a multifunction 5.25" panel, but it won't fit properly in my Dell case..so I guess I'll have to build another system. 😛

I have an 815 and a 128mb memory card. The reception is way better than my old ****** 120e phone and it's got a great battery life.

It's great, my only slight complaint would be size is a little on the larger side with the extended batt. Otherwise, no problems at all. The bluetooth headset is a nice additional feature as well.

save money? plus....conroe comes...

i've got the v710 (predecessor to the e815) and i love it. camera is crap, but the e815 fixed that up. night shots with the v710 are filled with horrible static but that isn't present nearly as much, if at all, on the e815 (at least from a demo i got from a friend who has it). the e815 also has a better stock battery, equivelent to the jumbo battery that i have for my v710, except it fits the case unlike mine which requires a bigger battery cover.. makes it crazy thick.
awesome reception, and mp3 playback sounds great. lil speaker built in is great, and i believe there is still the ability to transfer mp3 clips to make homemade ringtones of real songs. i do that with my v710 but its older firmware, before the copy feature was disabled. have to check with the e815 owners.
highly recommend it.. it's been said that its the same as the razr (feature-wise), but different body. i'd say its a little better, just not as flashy as the razr.

Got three of 'em, two with transflash cards and all features unlocked. MP3 is outstanding. Make sure the headphone adapter you buy has 4 conductors on the plug, or it won't be stereo.

Battery life is sick, but I charge mine once every Sunday evening, whether it needs it or not.

... do you ever use it? 😕

I have to charge mine every 48 hours, or it dies.

If I turned mine off every night, I could see it easily lasting a week. I hate talking on the phone. Only have it so the wife can nag me remotely.

Or..I could get a Razr V3c for $100 (one immediate rebate, rather than two after months of waiting)..hmm. It doesn't say that the Razr has MP3 playback, though..so it looks like the E815 is the way to go.

Edit: Heh - I can get the E815 much cheaper directly from Verizon's website. Whaddya know.. 😛

These all have MP3 playback - in the ~$100 or less range, what do you think is the best choice?

Pffft, mine is on 24/7, but I don't talk on it constantly. We've got five phones on our service, sharing 700 minutes, and never even come close to going over. I honestly think there's something wrong with people who have to be constantly yapping on their damn phone.

Yeah, turning it off nightly and not talking much would do that. I use mine at least a few minutes every day, and I never turn it off.

I rarely use mine - last I checked, we had over 3000 rollover minutes (Cingular)..so I'm thinking the $39.95 450min plan would be more than sufficient for me - just have to decide on a phone. 🙂

I almost never turn my phone off either -- I use it for my alarm in the morning. 😛
