Anyone have a list of states that dont require front plates?

In Wisconsin, the rule is that if your car comes with a bracket, you must have a plate. If they find out that you took the bracket off, you get fined. If the car does not come with a bracket, then you don't need one.

RI requires front plates.

However they usually don't pull you over unless they are either just ticked off, or want to stop you for something.
One of my friends dads was pulled over cause the light that is suppose to shine on the back plate was out.
I couldn't believe it. The officer told him if he had proof it was fixed within a week he wouldn't have to pay the ticket.

My thoughts on it are, its not worth the hassle to not have and get pulled over. Cause its going to be when I have to go
somewhere and I don't have time to spare.

I think someone mentioned they're required in CA...although about 90% of vehicles here don't have a front plate.

Same here. I had three cops pass by me this morning and they just kept going. It's one of those things they may ticket you for if they stop you for something else.

Is there any reason for front plates other than giving you a ticket from the stoplight cameras?
