Actually if you dump a lot of fonts into a Win98 font folder, you can totally fuck the OS. Just by installing fonts.

so either episodic is running windows 98 or his 4gb hard drive is getting too full....that about sum it up?

if you're trying to use less memory because you have an old machine, you should try to focus on the "start-up processes" coz they are real trouble-makers. download "Autoruns" from Microsoft and try to disable as many start-up programs as possible. once i was called to fix a home computer that had over 70 processes showing on the TaskManager. i have a 9-year old 700Mhz desktop and a 5-year old 800Mhz TabletPC. both run with 22 processes.

also, consider: 1) re-installing Windows; 2) disabling visual effects; 3) using Windows Classic theme; 4) using a light antivirus software (eg: Free AntiVir); 5) using a light Linux distro (eg: Puppy Linux).

HOWEVER (and this is a big one!), if you are a gamer, you'd better buy more memory....or a even a new computer! anything else would just be too much hassle and yield too little result to your games!

here is the list of fonts i keep in my old machines. some of them are "symbol" fonts (Windings, Webdings, etc) and they *might* be used by the OS to draw buttons, scroll-bars, dialog-boxes or bullet-lists (in Word), so be careful.

good luck!
