Her movie comes out later this summer...she's actually a food industry exec who wanted to show that you can eat an all-McDonald's diet...as long as there are no burgers or fries involved. There was a blurb in the new 'Time' about it.

She sounds like a shill for a desperately unhealthy industry. A "McDonald's diet" without burgers or fries is not any normal person's idea of a McDonald's diet.

...the 49-year-old animal trainer from New Hampshire required herself to try every single item on McDonald's menu at least once, including Egg McMuffins, Big Macs and her favorite "dairy and vegetable meal" ? you know, french fries and a chocolate shake. But instead of pigging out and conserving energy like Spurlock, she limited herself to about 1,800 calories a day and continued her normal exercise routine of doing aerobics and rollerblading. Admittedly overweight going in, Whaley lost 13 pounds and lowered her overall cholesterol level by 40 points. Shedding fat this way, she said, was easier than "in the real world," partly because McDonald's nutritional information brochures helped her evaluate what she put in her mouth.
Oops, I guess she did eat at least one of each burger, fry, dessert etc...but 1800 calories a day? I just don't see her ordering 3 "value meals" of ANY type and maintaining those numbers.

This sounds like one of those: man smokes a cigar and drinks a bottle of wine every day and lives to 120 years. The dude at the link above is very fit, and obviously worked hard and tough to shed off all the crap from eating McDonald's food. He admits, that if he didn't, he would have gained up to 40 pounds, and can't imagine what would happen to his cholesterol. Show me an average american sculpted as him, and being as zealous about physical fitness. What a wash.

drink diet coke and don't supersize and don't get fries, (because she almost never did).

the guy in So-cal ate 4,000 calories a day, of course he had to excercise a lot to keep the weight off, and he probably screwed himself up doing so. eating 4000 calories a day of anything except maybe lettuce will have negative effects on you.

That is exactly the mans point.

While most McDonalds food is unhealthy he was able to maintain his previous excellent health and even improve it by simply exercising. People need to stop pointing their fingers at the fast food industry for making them fat and realize that it is their own fault that they are lazy fvcking blobs of cud and need to exercise and educate themselves about proper nutrition.

He ate an average of 4575 calories each day, granted he had plenty of muscle mass and was in shape.
He spent 1 and a quarter hours at the gym each day.

The only redeeming quality I see in "Supersize Me" is how the Spurlock guy criticized the schools and the cafeteria "food" they serve kids.

None of these Mcdonalds "projects" needed to be done to prove that unhealthy food has unhealthy effects on a persons body who does little to no exercise.
