Anyone have a direct phone number to Asus RMA tech support?

I could use some help. I've been an Asus product user from way back.....still have the box my Asus CUSL2 motherboard came in.

Well, on to my problem. I just received my EAH4850 video card back from its second RMA. Again, it works for a minute and then dies, just like after it was returned from its first RMA.

What precipitated the original RMA was SmartDoctor detected a failure in the card, the VRM's were overheating and one of the red LED's lit up.....the card was run only at stock speeds, never overvolted, overclocked, etc.

Well, two RMA's later and the card STILL has the same problem.....except this time it refuses to put out an image and won't let the system boot. Replace the card with a spare I have, an Asus 3870TOP, and it boots fine. Also boots fine with a 1GB 4870 of another brand.

I've just about had it with Asus's lousy RMA service. I do find it odd that they can receive the card to their facility and within 24 hours, have tested it, "repaired" it, packed it and sent it on its way back to me. Asus had it less than 36 hours in house, counting nighttime.

Anyone else having this problem with their Asus RMA's? And does anyone have a direct phone number to tech support, preferrably Tier 3?

I swear I'm about to give up on Asus products totally because of this junk.

Try 812-282-2787.

My original P5E WS Pro mobo croaked after 9 months, went in for RMA came back a week later just fine and dandy. Died again 5 months later. Went back for RMA (2nd time) and was shipped back to me less than a week later. I've yet to reinstall the 2nd rma board, am assuming it will work.

So far my experience with Asus is that they are a company for which you (the consumer) end up making use of their RMA process eventually but the RMA process itself is pretty reasonable.

My preference of course is to buy products that are high enough quality that I never need make use of the warranty, so Asus is not likely to see my CC again.

Sorry to hear about your problems with Asus, that is exactly why I have stayed away from Asus since I've been using computers, Gigabyte, EVGA, and DFI is all I've had and always got quick RMAs and sometimes brand new parts, not refurbished :p

I've had sort of the opposite with Asus. I have had Asus video cards, motherboards, and even my laptop is Asus. Haven't had to make use of the RMA yet. Some people just have bad luck with certain brands.

Well, it seems to only be their video cards. Have been using their motherboards for years and have never had a failure yet.....their video cards, though....that's another story completely. This is actually the second Asus video card I've had a failure with. Fortunately, the 3870 TOP I bought was replaced on the second RMA it went through and the replacement has been working flawlessly. But to have to RMA this damned card for a third time to get a proper fix is just not right!

Both that 3870 and this 4850 were bought within days after they first hit the stores, which makes me wonder why I have to buy something when it first comes out rather than wait for the bugs to get worked out first. Never again!

Went to ASUS US site (if you're in the US) once to get an RMA question answered on an LCD monitor. Got a customer service rep in the SF Bay Area headquarters. She was very helpful. I don't have the number now, but it should be on their website.

PS is currently a Corsair TX850, was a Corsair HX620. Both more than adequate, I assure you, and both working perfectly fine......the HX620 moved to my machine #2 when I got the 850 and the 4870 (both bought and installed simultaneously) I'm using right now. Machine #2 was to use the 4850 that was in my main rig, but is having to chug along with its older 3870 until this card is RMA'd for the third, and hopefully, final time.

Right now, I'm waiting for a call back from Asus's Level 3 tech support....course, been waiting since 10AM today, about 6 hours now. Maybe L3 tech support will "authorize" a proper fix or replacement for this POS card.

Just to follow up....talked with Level 3 tech support. They're going to pay for FedEx shipping to Asus in CA for its third RMA and I actually have a name of the L3 tech this time to go with the RMA, who says he'll be the one who'll test the card and replace it if it fails, as it will.

Time will tell in this............
