Anyone have a charge from metropolis.com on their credit card?

I went to the website, which is now owned by a hotel billing company in California. They say that the Metropolis online gaming company used to own their domain and that if the charge was from them it would be for thousands of dollars.

I don't play online games, so this seems pretty fraudulent to me. I filed a dispute with Visa, we'll see how that goes. Never had to do that before.

Call your bank/credit card company and ask if there was a number left in the details of the transaction.

Call it, and inquire.

Just dispute charge. It is entirely the burden of the vendor to show proof. It's usually a pain in the ass too.

Your bank should be able to track down the financial institution the charge originated from. Then, MAYBE, they can get the other financial institution to provide a phone number for who actually initiated the charge.

Then it's up to you to call that merchant's phone number and find out what the heck is going on.

It could easily be a charge accidentally applied to your account. Happens all the time.
