Anyone have a big dog? Does it shiver in the cold?

I took my dog (German Sheperd) outside for like 15minutes to shovel the snow. She was having a great time (she loves snow - she was running around, barking, just being happy haha) and then I go by my garage and I notice that she's shivering? She's never shivered before... I took her inside and dried her completely off (she wasn't very wet)... but she's still shivering a little (like one short shiver-spree a minute or so??)

Has this happened to anyone else's dog before? She's never shivered like this before and it's not even that cold outside... I could understand a small dog shivering, but she's like 80-90 pounds with a huge fur coat. It was at the point her teeth were even chattering a little?
Any bigger problems then just being cold?

If its not that cold, the snow on her fur might be melting and getting her wet.

I think she might have eaten too much snow, so I gave her some warm soup - hopefully this is what she needs haha

yea my yellow lab's 70 lbs and she shivers sometimes after playing in the snow, just warm her up a bit and she'll be fine after sleeping it off or something

My 85 pound dog has never shivered after being outside in the cold, or if she has, I've never noticed it.

I had a bloodhound that would do that, he was a big baby.

My old cocker spaniel would get chunks of snow tangled in his fur after playing in the snow. He'd snap at us if we tried to pull them out because it'd take his fur with it. We used a hair dryer on low settings to avoid drying his fur out, but he didn't like the sound of the hair dryer. Eventually, we just let the snow clumps melt naturally, and chuckle at him sleeping on the heater vent.

Our golden retriever will just go outside and lay down in the snow, "chilling" out. He loves this weather. Except, he recently had surgery to remove a large tumor on his butt, so his rear end is shaved. He comes in a little quicker now.
