Anyone have 2 full computer setups in your room/house

what do you use 2 systems for? just curious.. other then for distributed computing... and im talkin like.. your 2nd computer is almost as good as the main one
 
I have 4 computers in the house. One is my school pc, home for the summer. I just built my younger brother a new college pc, which he uses to type papers and play games. My parents have a computer to themselves, once my brother and I go back to school. Last I built a home entertainment pc, which I use to watch dvds and listen to mp3s in my room. The more pcs, the better.
 
Yep, I have 2 full blown computers. One in the guest room and one right next to my bed. The one next to my bed is used for surfing and playing music, but the other one is for playing games as well as working, surfing and playing music. For now the machines are pretty equal, but once I upgrade my main machine in the guest room then the other one will be serisouly underpowered compared to it.

Also, if I ever find a job, I've been tinkering with the idea of setting up a 3rd little computer to use as a backup and maybe set up an ftp server.
 
3 PCs

1 Dell, a 700 cell for my dad
1 other computer, 400 cell for my sister (my old one)
my computer a 1.4 athlon, built it myself with help from a friend.
 
One for me, one for the wife and kid, one barebones as my test rig for troubleshooting clients hardware, and an old P133 I'm going to use to play with Linux if I ever get off my lazy ass and install it 😱

1x Not used PII300mhz (not sure if it works)
1x Huge alpha server, not used
1x dual 550mhz celeron, used as server, router and divx machine.
1x p100, my moms computer

What a terrible son you are! Why don't you canabilize the old ones if needed to see if you can get her the PII 300 working?

1 athlon 1540, 512, GF3 ti200@210/530, 19" trinitron
1 p3 700, 512, 7500 AIW, 19" diamondtron
game on one, surf on the other.

the diamondtron is nicer than the trinitron, newer too, i'll switch them when i move in a month.
 
well i got a k6-550 machine running... and a pentium-75.. i'd like to make those emulator machiens... put like NES or SNES on them witha gamepad... and i got my athlonxp1800 machine.. still thinkin about gettin another... we'll see... dont really need a dvd machine.. just got my new kickass tv..

I got 4 complete systems running and networked right now. I can get up 2 more if I want.

2 are gaming rigs and other stuff. My mom has the most add ons. printer, scanner, tv tunner, burner. She is also has the same speed cpu and amount of ram has the rest of us.
 
1X 1.7 P4 ->mine
1X 850 P3 -> wife
1X 667 Celeron -> Router / Server
1X 400 AMD lappy -> Bought for work and now just use it when I go out of town (not Networked into the system)

Also I will be putting my MIL's Comp on the network later this week hopefully and networking the lappy

Main one for the wife and I
Another for the kids
And my laptop for when I go TDY or when the wife is hogging the main one.
 
I've only got one system active 24/7, it's in my sig. My other system is sitting in my closet, without memory. Other than that it's complete. In case anyone is wondering, it's an iPaq desktop system. Nice and small.

I've got five in my room.
1.0tbird that runs at 1.6
p3 700 that runs 950
three celery 500s
and an unused p100

Also have a p3 500 in the library for the parents, and two more in my dads office/workshop, one is a p3 667, and the other is a p90
Also have two more in storage not being used, one p3 500 and something else
