Unfortunately, the P3V133 is no where near as overclocking friendly as its bigger brother, the P3V4X. The P3V133 is completely controlled by jumpers, has fewer FSB options, and does NOT have the option to run the memory asynchronously with the FSB.

Furtherore, the performance of the Apollo Pro 133 (NOT the 133A), just plain sucks.

As long as your RAM can handle it, and your CPU is able to stand it, you should be able to get up to aroun 933 with that system. If not, then you may have to go for a lower speed like 805 (7 x 115) or so.

As usual, your mileage will vary. Just try it and find out.

The P3V4X is a good board, I've built 3 computers based on it. IMO, the reason people are saying that it's not as good is because we have i815 boards available, such as the CUSL2, which blow it away in features and stability. The P3V4X is still a good board.....but like all things, after a certain period of time, something better and/or faster comes out and makes the older thing less desirable.

mikelou26: sorry, I don't understand your question. The P3V133 is not a buggy board as such. It's lacking features and it's based on the 3 year old design of the original P2B PCB whereas the P3V4X is based on the much newer P3B-F design.

The P3V4X is far superior in almost every way.

In terms of expandability, 1ISA/6PCI/1AGP/4DIMM is far better than 3ISA/4PCI/1AGP/3DIMM. Software (BIOS) controlled FSB is far more convenient for overcloking. Finally, the 133A chipset's performance is significantly better than the 133.

Further overclocking options are limited by the fact that you cannot run the FSB asynchronously with RAM, ie you can't run at FSB-33MHz for the RAM clock, say 150MHz FSB and 117MHz RAM.

I guess the only consolation for P3V133 owners is that it is somewhat cheaper.
