anyone had difficulty getting voice chat setup on RSV2?

Title says it all. Playing with my brother in different rooms so everything is over our local LAN. All firewalls disabled inside for testing. Left all the settings in the game on default. Both of our machine are using integrated sound cards (one of them is a Dell machine that was purchased recently and another I built and its a DFI LanParty mobo with a Karajan sound module). There's an assortment of issues ranging from one way audio is very low or sometimes the voice won't transmit at all. Sound from the game is fine. This doesnt seem to happen in other games.
