Grilled up some nice steaks last night. Not sure what's on the menu for the weekend.

Like going to be grilling up some fresh salmon on Sat with some fresh veggies, then Sunday, I think I'll do a nice steak fillet.

I grill every weekend, at least once. Pretty much any meat you can cook, you can cook on the grill.

Generally though, I grill some steak up for the night, after grilling 4 or so chicken breasts to use during the week. (cooking food on the weekend and storing it is amazing, btw).

I would suggest some steak, sausage, chicken, pork, and fish.

Grilled two ribeyes last night. Ate one and left the other one for tonight. Probably cut it up and quickly heat it up in a pan with some butter.

I have one ribeye left in the freezer that I will thaw for the weekend but I'm going to try pan-searing it in a cast iron pan I have yet to purchase.

Did a tri tip last weekend, doing up some carne asada this weekend. We've also done salmon filets and swordfish steaks.

Grill some oysters in a shell. Awesome on the grill. Conch is great as well. Same as oysters. Let it cook in its shell. Lobster is good on the grill.

Whole mackerel is great fish to grill and really cheap. Whole fish is usually $2 or less and makes for excellent eating. Salmon is always good but way pricier.

Pork necks are cheap cut of meat and excellent grilled. Slice, marinate, and grill. Makes excellent lettuce wraps.

grilled marinated flank steak tonight as well as a couple of onions and some squash and green peppers. I use a basket for the veggies so they dont burn and fall in.

Gonna probably marinade some chicken and grill that tommorow with some nice corn.

We grill 4 or 5 nights a week some weeks in the summer. Have two lbs of swordfish for later in week.

I actually hate cooked salmon. Hate. Was thinking about trying to grill some kinda whitefish or maybe take it easy and do shrimp tonight.

I've been known to stumble on the D every once in a while.

Hate cooked salmon? wtf? Salmon and mackerels are the two best fishes for grilling. Close third is largehead hairtail.

doesn't do anything for me, but I'd eat salmon raw all day long.

I can eat salmon, raw or cooked all day long. Doesn't matter with me. Pretty same with every fish. Give it to me raw or cooked. I'll eat it.

Another great fish grilled is eel. Forgot about that wonderful fish.

I also like grilled clams. But instead of the small ones like littlenecks which is everyone's favorite, I prefer the large kind like quahog which are tougher to eat and usually only used in chowders and soups. I like the chewiness and large amount of meat you get with quahog. Quahogs are also cheaper than littlenecks.

Just realized how I've hardly used the grill this summer. I still have stuff in the freezer I could grill like chicken breasts and ribs. Chances are it will have to wait till next year as I don't really like grilling in winter, just too much trouble having to get dressed up every time I go out to check on it. Not to mention it means an extra area I need to keep shoveled.

so I picked up some wild caught king salmon last night. Suggestions to prep?

I was thinking taking the skin off the filet then marinate in oil/salt/pepper/dill for a few hours before slapping it on the grill, then fry up the skin on the cast iron underneath a press.

Thoughts?

No, leave the skin on. Marinate the filet and toss it on the grill skin side. Flip it after about 5 minutes. Cook it another 4-5 minutes. The skin will be super crispy. There's no need to fry or try to crisp the skin. The grill will take care of it.

what about grilling it on top of one of those salt bricks, or maybe a wood plank?
