Haw? I think my 7.2k 60GXP runs hotter than any of my 7.2K segates.

Anways, 60GXP's are nice, go for them.

i dunno tuna boo....i had two seagate 7200 20gigs set to raid 0 in a system i built for a friend and they were hot as crap...ran fast and all but they were hot....i was thinking it may have be attributed to that metal plate and foam on that covers the circuitry on the bottom of the seagates...nice feature though...but they sure were warm

Before I had a fan cooling my 60gxp, I could toast bread on it (don't ask)

Heh. I'd give an opinion of the 40GB 60GXP that came tonight, except my damn fan on my heatsink doesn't work!

I can't run my computer without risking meltdown!

I ran two of the things in RAID 0. Had many stability problems and several hangups while trying to format them. I believe this was the result of a bad board however b/c when clocked down to 900 from 1200, they ran great. Very quiet, very fast.

IBM 60GXP's and Maxtor's current line of drives are great :) You cant go wrong with either side.

If you're in the market for some high-end performance...(scsi drives), then Seagate is the way to go...otherwise, their IDE drives are slower than the IBMs/Maxtors.
