Anyone got a Zalman 7700 in a Super Lanboy?

I'm about to pick up a Super Lanboy and wanna pair a Zalman 7700 with it, but need to be sure everything will fit before deciding on what mobo. Here's a Link to the clearance scale on Zalman's site, if anyone could take a few quick measurements on their mobo/lanboy I'd appreciate it.

I'm thinkin something like an IC7 would work since there's a good deal of room btwn the CPU retention bracket and the end of the mobo, unlike most other boards where the retention bracket buts up against the edge of the PCB. Pic

Yea you will definitely want to get a board that places the cpu as far from the top as possible - and of course still have clearance from other parts according to zalman.

I have the case....there is about 0.25" to 0.35" between the edge of an ATX motherboard and the PSU.

Yo, it will be a miracle to fit. My SLK947U barely fits and that is much smaller than the monstrosity the 7700 is. Main problem is the PSU is only 1 cm away from the top of the motherboard. YOu need a lot more maybe more than 1" from the ziff socket clearance to the psu.

lol yeah, some of the older revisions have smaller profile NB heatsinks, if that ended up being a problem I'd gladly replace it with something shorter and passive. I'm more concerned about the PSU than any motherboard components being in the way.

My 7000A-Cu fits in my Aria fine, on a mobo with the retention bracket butting against the PCB. It's really close to the side panel, but the fins don't touch. I guess the 7700 would be 20mm wider in diameter tops on each side, then a mobo like the IC7 has about 3 capacitators (the fat ones) width btwn the edge and retention bracket. Then there's bound to be a few mm between the mobo and the PSU. I dunno, I think it might fit, maybe I should just buy one and find out.

Um, crap...

I just posted in the P160 vs. Lanboy thread about wanting a Lanboy myself, but I was planning on getting a Thermalright XP-90 or maybe even the XP-120 (which seems to be huge). Would either of those fit? I'm going to run the Asus A8N-SLI and 3500+. If either of those are too big, can anyone recommend a smaller one that still performs well? Thanks for any advice...

Bump... anyone know about Thermalright HSF's with the Lanboy? This would influence my purchase a lot!

???

I bought the Lanboy today anyway, I sure hope the XP90 will fit! I'm going to look more closely at the sizes later and try to determine...

If you have a motherboard with a good deal of space btwn the retention bracket and the edge of the board, I think the XP-90 will fit with ease. To name a few - IC7, P4C800, and MSI Neo 875 (newer revision) series boards. I've decided to try the XP-120 over the Zalman 7700 due to its light weight.

Alrighty, ordered the XP-120 and an Aopen AX4C Max mobo. I'll update when they arrive whether they fit in the Super Lanboy or not, my fingers are crossed. My main concern is the exhaust fan blocking the fan for the XP-120, I think the clearance btwn the heatsink and PSU should be fine.

I looked at a Super Lanboy set up in Fry's and with the rear fan installed, there isn't much room in there. I can't see fitting one of those huge Zalman's in there. The Thermalright's will be questionable IMO.

When I finally do a build with my Super Lanboy, I will probably be looking at getting something like this.

Actually, this is the hsf that was installed on the system on display at Fry's. There isn't much space on the sides of the CPU, so I'm thinking that I need one of these more verticle coolers.

Something like this:

Something that is more tall than wide.

Since you've already ordered the XP 120, please let me know how it fits inside the Super Lanboy.
