so i've got an ipaq with built in wifi and i was wondering if anyone has this new tmobile hotspot@home. what major differences do you see in the router and typcial linksys router? i'm thinking someone could just nab the firmware off of one and everyone could cut the cost of buying a new router.

also, how well does the service work?

i dont know... i have tmo and i was thinking of going the hotspot@home route, but shit man they still want $20 more a month. for $90 a YEAR you can get a skype phone number (what i did) and have those calls automatically route to your cell phone when you dont answer the skype phone. much cheaper but i do have to mess with a new number i guess.. but the only real disadvantages to skype is no outbound caller id (nobody knows who you are when you call them, but you can still see their caller id when they call you at least) and the fact that skype doesnt work with 911. other then that, it works fantastic!

Tmobile@home is currently only avalible with the Samsung and Nokia branded @home hotspot phones (Samsung t409 and Nokia 6086). There is supposed to be a update to allow it for the dash and wing, but I havent heard about any other phones being able to use it.
