Anyone got a good gamepad to recommend?

I just got NHL2002... and playing with the keyboard is not that fun...

So I think I will get a new gamepad... probably something with USB connection...

I was thinking about the MS Sidewinder gamepad... anyone got any comments on this one? or does anyone else have any other suggestions?

Cool, are you going to simulate the Bruins sucking? 😀
Ya, a Sidewinder is a great little controller, probably the best for arcade style games, such as sports games and fighting games. The Gravis Xterminator(the old one, not the new Force one) is a little more full featured, however it's a fair bit more and quite big for some people.

Yeah I dont wanna spend too much on this... cuz the only use I have currently is NHL2002....

hehe... the Bruins did win tonight's game, even thought the Canadiens almost had a great comeback...

But I am going to simulate the Canucks kicking the Wings' @ss instead! 🙂

GO CANUCKS GO!!!

Actually I have another question...

How long are the USB cables on these gamepads? My computer is located quite far from my seating position, so I'm wondering if I need to get an USB extension cord...

has anyone seen that hotdeal for that Logitech??? I'm gonna search for it in the Hot Deals now...hmmmmmmmmmmm

Check out this thing

You get to use your PS2 pad with your computer using this thing. Its cheap especially if you have a Playstation or PS2. I like the PS2 pad pretty much over everything but Cube, so this is what I'd spring for if I didnt already have a Sidewinder.

I'd go with the Gravis Eliminator Pro. I've got it and it's a sweet little pad. Bought it from the FS/FT forum right here. It rocks.

Holy crap! 6ft?!?

That's more than enough for me...

Right now I am swaying towards the Logitech becuz of it's vibrate feature... The Sidewinder and the Logitech are priced exactly the same in my area...

<<Logitech Wingman Rumblepad is my favorite! >>

Personally I don't really like the feal of my Wingman Rumblepad.
That and mine only has one row of top L/R bottons.
I would recoment buying a PS2/USB converter thingy and leaching controllers off your friends. 🙂

Went and got the Microsoft SideWinder today... It was on sale, $5 CAN cheaper than the Logitech (so now it's around $23US)... and I dont really like the feel of the Logitech in my hands... so far I am quite happy with it... 🙂

after trying several, thrustmaster firestorm dual power is by far the best. immersion rumble feedback, very ergonomic, two thumb sticks, a ton of buttons. and the entire thing is velvety rubberized🙂 nothing touches it right now.

the price is also good. 20 bux🙂

Does the Logitech Wingman Rumblepad have a defined '+' gamepad as opposed to the round "mushy" Sindwinder type?

I have a lot of trouble with directional controlling on the sidewinder, like pulling off fighting moves and want to buy a new gamepad.
