I have 2 short (< 5 second) mp3s that I need noise reduced...

first (replaced)
second (replaced)

You can hear background noise and I would like that "space" sound cut out, but the tone at the same volume. Can anyone help ?

the EQ is just for playing... and it's just a ringtone so there's no modifying that on the player end... need it taken out of the source.

Here ya go. I used CoolEdit Pro, btw.
Beautiful. Except pager2.mp3 doesn't seem to work on my PC or after being transferred to my phone. The other one is fine. Fixable ?

Also if you can let me know what features you used, that would be great. Thanks again.

Hmm, I did have a crash when I finished encoding it. I reuploaded #2 again. Try it now.

I used Cool Edit Pro 2.1. Loaded the whole file, then Effects -> Noise Reduction -> Hiss Reduction.

Select High Hiss Reduction from the menu at the right, then raise the noise floor to about 32db or so.
