Currently my title is Programmer/Analyst, but basically I'm a support analyst who dabbles in side-apps and SQL programming for reporting purposes. I have done development in the past, right out of school (grad in 1999), and want to get back in that direction.
I have recently had an interview with a development firm, who are interested in my skills, but will likely offer me a much more junior position than I hold right now because I'm not primarily a developer. I have some basic Java experience, but not a ton of J2EE, I have some basic VB skills too, but mainly VB 6, not .NET. I am fully versed in SQL programming, and basic DBA duties.
What do you think I can expect in terms of salary loss/expectations when/if I begin to get back into development?
