Expecting 1.5 million people for the Dream Cruise on Woodward this weekend. Thank god I don't live near the street although leaving work this week has been an absolute bee-ach! Anyone else planning to go? Friday afternoon right now and starting to see helicopters with banners all over the place. Time to gear up!

<<Sorry if I am dumb.. but what's the Dream Cruise?>>

A bunch of people with nothing better to do, drive up down a boulevard named 'Woodward'.

its not supposed to rain anymore today. I dont like the fact that the cruisers are started on monday, though. I tried getting to Naked Furniture and just gave up.

Didnt help that i was behind a woman on a cell phone in a saturn who rear ended a brand new Trailblazer...

So it is just some street somewhere that people drive on over a weekend?

its one of the first streets that were built when Detroit was expanding. Its actually M-1. The Woodward Dream Cruise is a 12 mil stretch were classic cars drive up and down, do burn outs, stuff like that. People get drunk, the police dont care, and the road is closed to anyone without a classic car.

It is mostly restored cars, but these days almost anyone joins. They drive up and down, up and down. Well, actually it's more like: crawl, stop, crawl, stop, crawl, stop...

The burn outs are actually prohibited, but luckily that doesn't stop everyone from doing them :D

It's just fun to watch, everyone seems friendlier than usual (which is rare around here, trust me) and some of the cars are really worth seeing.

I have gone every year, and have yet to see a cop stop a burn out :D
