Anyone going to see The Police?

They wanted to sell me MSG floor seats in about the 70th row for $254 each with about $30 in shipping/service charges tacked on... I decided to take a pass even though I could have both afforded it and/or made money selling them off because I think you just have to draw the line somwhere.

I have better things to spend $560 on ... I wanted to go but not that badly.

Wow, that is pretty ridiculous. Mine came to $450 Canadian all in for a pair just off the floor next to the stage.

The wife is a diehard fan and was willing to pay whatever, so we went for it.

i was interested, but they're playing in the N.O. Arena which has horrific acoustics. Too much money to go and not be able to hear 🙁

I'm still going, they're playing on my birthday. 😀

Are there any dates announced yet? I'd love to see the Police in concert. I've seen Sting live and he's awsome.

I've seen Sting twice, I agree he's awesome.

I get emails from a local radio station here, they notify you of events, etc. They were advertising a live feed from the Whiskey a Go Go yesterday. The Police played there yesterday, it was fun to watch on line! Never watched a live feed broadcast like that before.
They did some interviews with the band, gave tour dates. I enjoyed watching them, they still sound great.

Also sounds like they've all matured, let some of the ego's go, and dudes, just play...that's what it is about, play for the fans, and they are.

They'll be here in Dallas, June 26th. Not sure if I will go or not, we'll see. Tickets are 50.00, 90.00, and of course, the cut off your arm price.

Agreed! He was great when I saw him here a couple of years ago! Some dates are listed here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/artist/1101273

Heh.. looking at the writeup on that: "Nominally, the Police were punk rock"

Punk? The Police?! Uh...

LMAO, yeah that's hilarious. Punk elements? Maybe. A punk rock band? Definitely not. John Lydon must be turning over in his grave.

Holy crap, concert tickets are expensive. Sure glad I don't go any more. Besides, already seen them a couple of times in their heyday.

Edit: This thread reminded me of one of the times I saw them play back at the '82 Us Festival. Here was the lineup for the 3 day show:

http://www.woz.org/US/details.html

I went to both the '82 and the '83 shows, but the first year was the best by far. One huge laidback party. The second year there was too much security but it was still pretty decent.

I haven't paid off my tickets so I'm sure I'll be seeing them real soon. I don't share your enthusiasm however.

I might have paid the $560 for the equivelent seats in MSG, but 4/5ths of the way to the back of the floor is pretty crappy.

I might pay that much to see Pink Floyd, but probably not the Police.

me 2!!!

me 3!!

I heard after Live 8 they were offered something like 100 million dollars to go on a reunion tour but turned it down! Not like they aren't already rich as hell anyways, but still.

Where? I don't see any tickets for the US.

There are some for sale in a few places only (MSG and Fenway) but it is only presale until Friday I think, when a bunch more tickets will go on sale.
