Anyone going on Vacation in Jan-Feb?

Anyone know of any good vacation spots...something tropical and beachy, with low budget things to do. I'm looking at a budget of about $1000-$1500 for 7-10 days. I have a friend who went to Thailand for about $1500 for 10 days, and spent on an avg of $20 day for food and $50 for jet skiing the whole day and getting fed grapes while getting fanned by two thai girls. I can't do Thailand...scared. So if any of you guys are going or have gone on vacation with about the same budget as mine...

Please share your stories...

Theres alot of bombings or terrorist crap aimed at American hotels in Bangkok....Muslims are not very fond of Americans right now...

I plan on going for a weekend of snowboarding during one of those months. It will probably only be just a 2 day trip.

I'm going to Biloxi, MS in January. It's home to the largest man made beach, has plam trees, and has lots of casinos (I think it eclipsed Atlantic City for #2 in the US).

You just can't tell what the weather will be like. It could be a sunny 70, or a clammy 50.

wow, that place is sweet....but $2400 week is way too expensive for my budget

is it cheap to dine and do activity in the bahamas?

Just tell everybody that you are Jewish and you won't have to worry about them mistaking you for a American.

im going Skiing in VT and Maine. 😀

its really tropicial up there in jan/feb.

the carribian is nice at that time of teh year tho.

Cancun/Cozumel are tropical and can be fairly cheap vacations. 7-day Caribbean cruises can likewise be had in that price range. Not as exotic as something like Thailand or Tahiti I guess, but still probably a great time.

You sure it eclipsed Atlantic City? I went to Tunica a year ago and they were claiming it was the largest casino site between Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
