anyone go from a queen to a king bed?

i roll around a lot and when my gf stays over, i'm confined to a tighter spot.

an extra 16 inches doesn't seem like much on paper. is it worth the upgrade?

Are you kidding me?! When my wife and I lat moved, we upgraded to a King bed. Its like no one else is there. You can snuggle and then move over to your own space.

Definitely worth-while!!

Going from Queen to King was one of the best decisions of our life. (seriously)

Yes, that extra 16" feels like an extra 4ft. (that's what she said)

it depends. when she lets herself go, she can get as fat as 117 lbs (her max in the 3+ years i've been with her).
i then point out to her how fat she's gotten and she trims down to around 110-112 lbs.

she's 5'5".

At 5'5" 117 isn't exactly fat. 😛
Yeah its not skinny but it isn't fat either.

Back to the topic... for me, I can sleep plenty comfortably even on a couch with another person there so the difference between a king and queen would be small. 😛

I was kidding.

I've heard your story about how fat she gets a dozen times before in other posts.

What about you? How fat are you?

chiseled, rock hard abs?

5'11" 165lbs is on the lighter side for that height isn't it? what's your strategy?

plugging my numbers into a BMI calc, I am at 23.0.
Normal weight = 18.5–24.9

you're probably used to seeing numbers like 5'11" 190#
further proof of how out of touch everyone is with what's considered fat.

I need to be 25 pounds under what both my doctor and I consider my "right" weight to be BMI's "Normal". BMI isn't a good scale for everyone.

It's worth it. I don't move around in my sleep and could probably sleep in that extra 14" alone. That extra room allows you to not disturb each other, especially if one needs to get out of bed while the other is still sleeping.

I wish there was a double king. if I could get a bed that encompassed the ENTIRE room wall to wall I would. In fact I have always dreamed of a room with wall to wall bed and pillows everywhere.

A friend of mine used to own sealy beds and I asked him to design me this bed...he though I was joking sadly..

general FYI- if this is a concern for anyone sleeping with a partner, i highly recommend a memory foam type mattress like tempurpedic.
it simply absorbs all vibration, but unfortunately it sucks for sex.

me and my wife went from a full to queen and it was great. then we stayed in a motel with a king. IT WAS HUGE. really i thought it was to big. we had enough room for another adult!

there is a huge jump from queen to king. we were thinking of a California king (we are both short)
