Anyone go data only?

I hardly ever use voice. I use an average of 250 minutes a month between me and my son. Most of those are calls to each other.

I'm very much thinking of going all data. My son uses Skype more than voice and I text more than I talk. Neither of us are attached to our phone numbers. I'd like a tablet but don't have a need for a tablet and a smart phone.

Has anyone done this? Gone to just using data and Skype for voice? I'm currently paying $150 after tax and discounts for our 2 lines.

too bad you cant read this but can someone repost? okay, what i think is to get the least amount of minutes possible, unlimited texting/how much you think you need and get data.

i am not doing that, but it seems like a good idea for you.

It's possible to make phone calls on some tablets without using skype. Not sure which ones but thinking they are unlocked international tablets. Maybe just custom roms? You'd have to search around if it's of interest to you. Google shows quite a few that look to have the capability. Best to buy a tablet off contract anyways as most carriers look to charge about eBay prices on contract anyways.
