After what we've seen today with AMD's newest cpu's ( Link ), chances are pretty good that there's gonna be some niffty price drops coming around the corner.

So what are the odds of you getting a new computer with future prices down in the dirt??

[EDIT]
In light of another member's comment, the above poll is to be considered in a short- term time frame.....as in by this x-mas or so....:D

my processor is old... old enough to have 512k of cache.

That doesnt necessarily mean it's old, I can think of processors released in the last 3 months that have 512KB L2.

I picked up a 1.2G Tbird/ ECS k7s5 from Frys last Saturday, recieved 256MB of Crucial DDR yesterday and hopefully today or tomorrow my Enermax 350W PS will arrive from Newegg. I'll assemble it this weekend (DAM Work any way!). This will retire my 400Mhz Celeron/BP6 system!

I am waiting for the AMD MP chips to come down in price and also for the Tyan dualie mobo's to also drop.

Other manufacturers are coming out with dualie boards soon, so Tyan will finally have some competition in that market.

Once that happens dualie heaven for me!

Probably going to upgrade my old p3 to an AMD XP in December.
The 1.8ghz p4 is kinda tempting as it'll easily hit 2ghz with a minimal bus speed overclock, and they have ddr boards for the p4 now.
Thing is 1.8ghz p4 I'll guess to be about $200 shipped in december, where as the XP1800(1.53ghz) is probably going to be about $140 shipped.
Also probably have to get a new case, doubt my inwin 300 watter will handle either cpu. :/

Next upgrade will be Athlon MP. Time frame is pretty far away right now. Dual 500Mhz Celeron is more than fast enough right now. I run 4 computers at home, so when a program slows one down, I switch to another.

Always have to have the best, doesnt mean I can afford it, but most likely I'll wait for Dual MP's to become a little cheaper.... 1.3 ghz, epoz 8k7a, 256mb ddr, 60 gigs hd, tnt2 ultra.... if anything i need to upgrade my video card

I am always upgrading, but the next move is going to be a 19" trinitron monitor not a proc/gpu/memory etc...

Fried my mobo cause I was too lazy to change the fan in my power supply so it overheated for 8 months, shorted out and killed it. SO i'm getting a new mobo :)

Should be recieving a new HD any day now, and if the prices come down, I may drop one of the new Athlon XPs in sometime around christmas. Just have to wait and see.
