Anyone get their PS2's yet?

i know of stores that have been recieiving their shipments in but are not selling till thursday.....anyone already got theirs? im planning on getting mine tomorrow....hopefully!!!

I plan on camping out in the electronic department at the local 24 hour walmart for while tomorrow night.

slipperyslope, my local Wal-Mart has put out a sign saying they will be selling the PS2's in the layaway dept. tomorrow night at 12AM, first come first serve. Just so you know, you might want to give them a call and find out exactly what they are going to do with their first shipment. Hope ya get one

My brother has already bought Madden 2001, an extra controller, and a memory card. He's stocking up so he'll have everything when he gets the money to buy the console itself. I have a couple of friends who work there at Wal-Mart, so I'm gonna find out exactly when they get in their next shipment.

thanks for the advice. I plan on getting to walmart at 8pm so that I can get to know the people. See if I can slip them a $20 and get one without hassle

here's my plan there are two places that will be selling the ps2 on thursday. the first K-mart they open at 8:00AM and will have 150 units (i think that's what there all getting) i WILL be at the doors when they open so hopefuly i can get then. the second is Bestbuy they open at 10 so if i don't get a kmart i can get into line over there.

at KMART. SHould I ask him to save me one?

I don't play console games at all...just wondering
if people are paying a premium for this console?

Take a look at ebay. Going for over $600. I realized I would rather fight people for it than try and get one on ebay.

If I end up getting one...I'm just gonna wait a few months until more games are out and it's no so hard to get one.

I heard the average # of units per store carrying the PS2 in the US is 12 units. so very few places are gonna have more than a dozen. good luck camping out. I think I'll wait a year or so and decide what to get once the game cube and the x-box have come out as well.

My local Electronics Boutique is getting a shipment every week until January. I plan on visiting them every week starting the week AFTER the intitial launch date, because obviously the entirety of their first shipment will be going to pre-orders...

You do realize that most EB's will require multiple shipments
before they fulfill all of their pre-orders? If you want one
from EB you should add your name to the waiting list if
possible and then wait for them to call sometime in the middle
or late November.
