Anyone get their LOTR pre-order from Best Buy yet?

I haven't gotten mine yet. It's also funny how I try to track the package from their web site, and USPS doesn't register the tracking number they provided me....

Anyone having the same problem?

nah but I rented mine yesterday- It came with the widescreen version. Is there an option for fullscreen with retail in the same package? (I don't mind WS, but I use my monitor and it bugs me not to use all the pixels- it's a little pet peeve of mine)

It would bug me more not to see the whole movie. There is a thread at dvdtalk.com about this, there are a lot of people that are waiting and will wait a while to get their copies. Apparently BestBuy.com way oversold their initial shipment and never changed the status on their site. A lot of people are pissed, and rightfully so.

no :| mine shipped on the 31st too... and just like Parn, my tracking number doesn't work. Stoopid best buy. Good thing I got it for $7.64 because I used the $10 gc that I got from buying Oceans Eleven Better come in the mail today!

That sucks, because you can walk into most stores and buy the thing right now. I bought the DVD today at Fry's for $15.99, and they had a ton of copies on the shelf.

Same at Bestbuy. I just got back. I don't have time to wait for my online order (moving in 9 days) so I'll probably cancle it.

i picked up a copy at fry's today for $15...also picked up Soul Reaver 2 for PS2 for $10...the cashier seemed shocked at the$10 price for the game...

Same thing happened with me with Warcraft III. Fry's had it on sale for $35.99, and the cashier did a double take at the price tag on the game, because it still said $59.99. I go "yep, it's on sale!"

yeah Mine shipped on the 31st and I got it yesterday. Funny thing is the distribution center is about a 30 minute drive from my house and thats where the return address was on the package. I guess the "Really" didn't ship it when they said they did

Don't forget about the Super-Mega Ultra, Ultimate Trilogy collection that will come out in 2004 sometime, it will have 86 discs and come in a real gold box. It will retail for $4,500 and will sell millions.

Seriously this DVD racket is really something. They release 8 different versions of a movie, every successor a "better" or more fully-feature release. We're all suckers.
