anyone get strange hd noises in their antec cases?

i have an antec 830 case and i'm not sure if its just the drive cage causing this particular problem. i have a diamondmax maxtor 45 gig 7200 rpm and occassionally you can hear some tapping/beeping type of noise coming from the harddrive (maxtors page says those type of noises might mean the drive is faulty). the noises occur randomly when theres nothing being transferred on the hd itself so i'm not sure whether its something caused by the drive cage. when i remove the hd from the drive cage its hard to tell whether the noise is still present, but the sound pops up every time i put the hd back into the drive cage (it seems to me the drive cage is sort of echoing the sound so it makes it more apparent). i even tried both drive cages and it still produced the noise. its probably something wrong with the hd, but i was just curious if anyone else experienced anything similar to this. for me its nothing serious but the noise sometimes starts up frequently and it annoys the hell out of me.

Hey, quick question. Im building a system with a 40GB Maxtor DRACO using and KT7A and a 1.1 Thunderbird. Well, long story short. I can install windows. If you have close to the same setup as I do..did you have to do anything special. Is there something Im missing? Sorry I cant be of much help, but I do have a Maxtor working in my other PC, and yeah it makes some funky noises sometimes.

ok, maybe its just some rattling due to drive and nothing wrong with the hd itself. out of my 3 other pcs i have i've never experienced any hd noise other than when files are being accessed on the hd itself, so maybe its just the antec metal drive cage.
