Note: this is about the 2007FP not WFP. I am interested in the 1600x1200 model.

Originally they were LG IPS screens, but when I bought mine Dell had switched to Samsung PVA. I see some reports of each lately.

Anyone get a recent 2007FP and care to sare the date and location from the back (Ex June 2006 Mexico) and the panel info from the service menu. Ex:

I am thinking about getting one again, now that the banding/text blur is fixed, but I am only interested in the LG IPS screen and not the PVA one. Just wondering which type is being predominantly delivered.

The one I have at work is a Samsung. I got it about 2 weeks ago. I think it looks great but I can only compare it to some older screens and the 2001fp I have at home. I will check the 2007fp I have at home too. That one is 3 weeks old, but looks the same.

I already know the characteristics. I had the Samsung based one, that is my screen shot. I am interested in the IPS based screen for the much better viewing angles. Sounds like they are either Samsung or Some mix of LG and Samsung. I had saw a few reports of LG and had hoped they had switched back. Guess not.

Any more? I seem to be running about 50:50 in responses indicating PVA/S-IPS on recent 2007fp panels. It is Dell days again. So I suspect another sale is iminent, but I am only interested in the LG S-IPS panel model. I don't like tone shift on PVA.

I have one at work, rev. A02, it is the Samsung PVA. I used to have an L2000C myself (sent it back due to banding problems), which is supposedly the same panel as the IPS 2007FP.

I have to say, after using both, I think I prefer the PVA, the viewing angles are better (yes they really are) and it doesn't get that violet sheen at wide angles. I'm also a little worried about burn in on the S-IPS panel, with the L2000C I managed to get significant burn in over just 6 hours! I didn't find out how long it took to fade because I had to return the monitor.

I have ordered a 2007FP for myself, I am hoping it will be the PVA, if it turns out to be an IPS I won't be too disapointed so long as it doesn't show any banding.
