Anyone from Ohio?

RossMAN

Grand Nagus
According to Amazon.com Amazon.com sales tax is only charged in KS, ND and WA.

Any AT'ers here from Ohio that can re-confirm that sales tax is NOT charged for Amazon.com orders?

Sales tax on a $10,000 order would be quite considerable.

no, the state charges sales tax in ohio. amazon would merely collect it.

jeez 90,000 posts already in this thread

and yes, i'm being pedantic.

I think he's asking if Amazon has a physical presence (i.e. a warehouse or distribution center) in Ohio. I know they have one in KY, but don't know about Ohio.

From October 2001, no tax, and December 2002, no tax. Not sure what their deal would be lately, though.

Edit: My dad bought a $650.00 dust collector in February 2004 with no tax as well.

Amazon doesn't charge tax for Ohio, although you are responsible to pay this at the end of the year on your Ohio tax return 😉

Item(s) Subtotal: $25.23
Shipping & Handling: $4.98

Total Before Tax: $30.21
Estimated Tax: $0.00
-----
Grand Total: $30.21

my last purchase was in 2k2 though, sorry if that doesn't help much : (

I just went through the order process using a test account with an Ohio address to confirm and no tax was charged. And I know what RossMAN is buying for $10,000... 🙂

Shh 🙂

I live in OH and have never been charged sales tax on my Amazon orders. Last one was Jan of this year though, so it's possible it could have changed since then, but not likely. $10,000 from Amazon? Dang 🙂
