Yes, we are nearly up to our knees in murky water. We put sandbags down but they only slowed down the water. My windows are literally shaking in their mounts, I feel like they are going to shatter any time now. You may be wondering why I am online and posting on a message board during this storm. It sounds like the dumbest idea ever, until you consider someone posting to ask people if their houses are flooded during a storm.

Nah, it's been raining all day here (Gainesville), but it's not a very heavy rain. The wind is picking up though, and with all the trees here it makes quite a mess with leaves, moss, and twigs everywhere.

Apparently Melbourne got over TWO FEET of rain.
My family in Central Florida seem to be doing alright.

For the most part, things are back to normal in Melbourne though schools are still closed today. The storm did not have much in the way of a lasting impact. The winds were not very strong. It was only the secondary tornadoes and the large quantity of rain that affected the area. Some homes flooded but there was not much structural damage.
One of my friends lost power during the storm for a little while. Some of my friends had some water flood into their home. Everyone got trapped in their house for a couple days. It was just a really shitty weekend in the middle of the week.

Florida accepted them for a hurricane.

I'm worried, I live at the lowest point of my street, with rather small lake across the street. Should expect some of the first serious bands to move in this afternoon, but I cannot take the kind of rainfall amounts the other areas of the state are getting. My street floods under mild thunderstorms, I'm going to hate to see it in this situation.
Yay for insurance? I'm tired of this state![]()
