Anyone find it difficult to carry out their daily "action items" at work?

I don't know if I'm in a rut or what, but I find myself increasingly bored and unable to put my energies into what I do. I know it's not that I'm burnt out, because I spent additional time at home working on projects that I enjoy. Anyone empathize? How does one get out of such a rut?

I'm trying... :) I'm just finding it difficult to get into "the zone." I used to be able to find my zone easily, and stay in it for quite a while, but now... not so much.

What's your job?

Okay, I'm officially hooked on ATOT -- posting from my lunch period at high school...

Lead developer on a commerce platform for a local software firm. Part of my issue with carrying out my action items, is that I've been trudging through a lot of code that frustrates the hell out of me for various reasons. Oh well... such is life.

It's been a month or two since I wanted to do some work here. I seem to go in cycles. For a few months, I'll be working all day everyday pumping out code and requests. Then, for a month or two, I'll do nothing but read these forums and surf the internet looking at crap.

Maybe riddlin would help us out?

Ritalin may help, but I'll never try it, so I'll never know :) I don't think I have ADD, because I can spend hours working on something that I find of interest. It seems this all started after coming out of my last project. I was very involved in it for many, many months, working what seemed like all day long, and then after it was finished (it's never really finished, we just "slowed" down), I never had that same spunk, or ability to "zone."
