Anyone feel any frustration with people jumping on the Xbox 360 bandwagon...

Granted i am a PC fanboy, but with good reason (FPS's), but while i do like the Xbox and will admit it has great capabilities, all this "XBOX better than a PC" crap is pissing me off...especially with people talking about using the internet on it (web surfing), when that was just a rumor and not even possible without cracking it (i believe at this point)....also i have heard that an ati X800 can still render more polygons then the GPU in the Xbox?? maybe a reason the new gen of ati cards had not been paper launched yet, still refining technolgy to get full advantage????


hell the 360 looks solid, but ill stick with my PC becuase i still cannot believe that with sound/gfx/gameplay/ ect can be better than a top notch pc...but i may prove to be wrong...if ya cach my drift....

well clearly, there is only one thing to do.

1.) time machine
2.) go back to glory days of tribes 1
3.) and worms armageddon
4.) repeat

I feel frustration with people creating unnecessary xbox 360 threads ;) cpu and graphics-wise it will be better than 99% of all personal computers.

umm check out my rig...i can definately afford one...i ask you take my comments with an open mind..im not "dissing" the Xbox at all....but im seeing all this "OMG THE XBOX IS THE FUTURE OF GAMING! IT ROXORZ THE PC's BOXORZ!!!!!" type of stuff without ppl even playing anything on it, and a lot of these people have never even pkayed a game on a highend system...(with good reason though)


and sorry for another xbox thread, but i want to see if anyone else feels like me...and not just people who are already Xbox 360 fanboys.

Well, if you plug your future xbox 360 into a regular television, it WILL look like crap. However, plug it into a 1080i HDTV, and it will look unbelievable. Or, plug it in to an LCD or other high-res computer monitor, and it will look amazing. The only downside to chat, etc is the fact that the main input is a controller. Thankfully, it has USB for a mouse and keyboard (my wireless better work).

All together, the xbox 360 is going to be an insane amount of technology and stuff for cheap! As long as you have the broadband connection, they are talking of a free version of xbox live. Playing an FPS on my 50" Sony HDTV is going to be awesome.

That said, I would take a kick-ass computer over any console any day.

Considering I have a P4 with Geforce 4 video card I have two options:

1) Spend $2500 on new hardware + big screen monitor.
2) Spend $300 on XBox 360 and play it on my big screen TV

Hmm, I wonder what should I do.

I agree with the op, it *may* be good for now but PCs will make a comeback. In the meantime, all Xbox360 chatter should be focussed in one thread.

who said it was better?
its a console.. the only thing I care about is the media center extender.. that in itself is enough reason to buy one....

that beign said this is gonna be one trick console.. and I already preordered mine today.

Complain all you want. I'm still buying one. And I want to buy a PS3 when they come out. And whatever Nintendo is making, I'll probably want that too. They will all be sweet. And cheaper than building a PC.

by the time the XBOX actually comes out, PC's will be almost as good and 6 months after will be better. The most significant change in the new xbox is the HD support and multithread gaming. about f'ing time.

Just like when HL2 or WoW was new to everyone, there were multiple threads on it all day for a week or so. This will die down just the same. I mean, the thing isn't due to be released till late this year. Talk will cease soon...
