I agree with you. Nobody should be looking forward to a new console with a new design, lots of horsepower and functionality in new areas. We should all just keep our current consoles/PCs and not jump on the bandwagon.. That's a great idea.
I've never spent $300 on a video card.It's not a PC vs console issue. Some ppl like one, some ppl like the other. I was a PC gamer for a long time but rather than drop $300 on a videcard alone, I'd rather get a new console and not have to worry about upgrading it for 5 years.
I can see Joe Schmoe getting excited about it. For someone who thinks Alienware, with their $3k+ systems, are the only way to play PC games, doesn't know a thing about PC maintenance and thinks of AOL as high-tech & hard to use, it makes perfect sense. What I don't understand is people on a tech board getting wet panties over it.
