Anyone familiar with "Olevia" brand LCD TV's?

We just picked them up as a new vendor at my work, and they are offereing some sweet deals for employees only.

I am a bit hesitant, as I am a major brand-name kinda guy.

Anyone have any experiences?

Very popular right now. Me and my girl have a 37inch LCD from them. If you register your TV within 30days or less you get a full 1 year on-site warrenty.

Have not had a single problem and the quality of the picture has been great. The built in HD tuner works well and I use it for over the air HD.

Got the 37 inch one. Works just fine. About three months on it by now.

Got a 32" one cheap as a spare TV. Not the best picture, but definitely not bad either. And did I mention cheap? 😉

Hmm 😕

tehy're crap, horrible reliability, horrible company. Save some money and get a Samsung or a Sony.

And what do you base that on? And using sony and reliability in the same topic is a joke.
Picked up a consumer reports lately? Sony ranked 1 or 2 in reliabilty in all types of TVs.

I base that on working retail where we sell a LOT of Olevia's and I see how many come back and how they look compared to a bunch of other TVs. I've also hear horror stories about their support.

HaHaHa... you are using consumer reports to back up a statement. Sorry you lose just based on that. If you look around you would see all the problems sony has had in the last several years. They used to be a top 3 TV maker but I put them maybe in the middle.
Same with the Olevia. The majority of people that own them love them for their quality and price. Something that sony has not had for a while now.

Nice! Excellent responses.

I am tempted beacuse we can get 1-2 units at about 40% off of the lowest retail I can find..

Keep 'em coming!

My store just picked them up too. Got our first shipment in yesterday as a matter of fact. Have them sitting next to Mitsubishi & Sharp LCDs.

The Mitsubishi has better black levels than the Sharp or the Olevia and the Olevia doesn't have as much backlight oomph as the Sharp or the Mits... But for half the money of the Sharp I'd take the Olevia any day.

I think some of you are missing the fact that a lot of these cheaper Chinese LCDs that are coming out are the OEM LCD manufacturers for a lot of the "premium" LCD vendors on the market. They cost less because you're buying it directly from the OEM instead of a "value added" manufacturer.

Think apex......

bad comparison, apex is really cool in the beginning with it's multi-region hack.

perhaps, chinese cars would be a better comparison....

I use my 32" for the last 7 months everyday for over 10 hours a day with not one problem at all as a computer monitor and tv. It has a 8ms refresh time and in all my games I own havent seen one bit of ghosting.

Before buying mine I did alot of research on it and all the reviews came out with flying colors and will try to research again if you can tell me which model your looking to get.

It has a 50,000 bulb life on normal settings and even more if you change the light setting to softer so by that I should see 10 years out of it before the bulb goes and at that time will be obsolite.

OH yeah and it is a OLEVIA but made by Syntax btw.
